Stakeholders

Throughout the course of my research I had the privilege of working with all of my fellow CADRE teachers. These people enlightened me on different strategies to use when it came to relationship building and behavior management during independent reading time.

I collaborated with my wonderful CADRE Associate to determine how to best collect meaningful data throughout my research. My Associate also helped me problem solve when certain strategies did not work and helped me come up with the independent accountability tasks for particular students.

My Capstone Instructor gave me insightful feedback as to how to collect and organize my data so that it was meaningful and not time consuming.

This product would not have been nearly as successful without any of these people and their input.

I was lucky enough to be placed on a motivated, cohesive Sixth Grade Team within our district. During our grade level collaboration meetings, I leaned on this group for suggestions on how to hold students accountable during independent reading time. One of my brilliant colleagues is to thank for the IDR Accountability Bingo idea. This group also promoted the use of exit tickets and guided notebooks during reading. Guided notebooks were a strategy I utilized during implementation.

During district wide professional learning presentations, I had the opportunity to learn about the impact of choice and conferencing during independent reading time. This encouraged me to help students find "right fit" books for their reading level and interests. It also prompted me to allow students to organize our bookshelf in a way that made sense to them.

Collaboration with these individuals supported the success of my research.
